2018 vintage in most of California was perfect for red grapes. A placid Summer was followed by perfect conditions early Fall contributing to slow down harvest and keep naturally refreshing acidity levels. Grapes were handpicked and shipped to us weeks before the fires ravaged some locations in California. Overall, the grapes were elegantly balanced, incredibly rich, and intensely aromatic.



Different techniques were utilized to boost the natural elegance of each variety utilized in this blend. Extended cold and warm maceration, controlled temperature fermentation and delestage, helped to develop a robust body, wired with powdery tannins and long-lasting palate. Savory and red fruit aromas open the nose for peppery notes. This blend stretched its muscles for over 12 months in neutral American oak until finally was racked and prepared for bottling.

The 2018 Ficarra Cellars Rosso Blend releases a never-ending flow of sweet aromas such as plums, cinnamon, chocolate, cigar, Mocha, and chocolate. This blend can be shared and enjoyed with Pizza, Spaghetti Bolognese or skewers.
