2019 vintage in the Paso Robles AVA was simply exceptional for most red varieties. A typical Summer was followed by lower than usual temperatures in early Fall, which turned out to be very handy in keeping naturally refreshing acidity levels and low potential alcohol levels. Grapes were picked and shipped to us weeks before the fires ravaged some locations in California. Overall, the grapes were elegantly balanced, incredibly exuberant, and intensely aromatic.

Different techniques were utilized to boost the natural elegance of this variety. Extended cold and warm maceration, controlled temperature fermentation and delestage, helped to develop an exuberant body, and an eclectic array of flavors, muscular structure, velvety tannins, and dark Burgundy color. Because for some, it is all about expressing the story the vineyard wants to tell this Syrah / Shiraz was aged in Neutral French and American oak for 18 months until harmony was accomplished.
